Inter Miami is two days away from their match against Charlotte FC at the Bank of America Stadium. The Herons had quite a week, from Suárez’s suspension to being well-positioned in a new CONCACAF ranking.
Las Garzas had received news from left to right, even if it was good or bad. Inter Miami won’t be able to count with Luis Suarez for the following three matches due to his altercation in the final.
However, after the Leagues Cup ended, CONCACAF released a new ranking. The Herons are fighting at the top.
Inter Miami is among the top teams in North America.
Once again, the Herons are putting the US soccer in the eyes of the world. Firstly, with the FIFA World Cup. Now, the team is competing toe-to-toe with clubs of great prestige in the sport.
In this new CONCACAF ranking, Inter Miami is ranked third, the highest-ranked MLS institution. It’s easy to assume that these rankings and improvements came in handy since the arrival of Lionel Messi.
You are not wrong in thinking that. Let’s be straightforward. Before the former FC Barcelona signed with the pink shirt squad, the club was going through a soccer crisis.
In his first year, Messi won the Leagues Cup and then the Supporters’ Shield. Since then, the Herons have been different. Everyone wants to beat them, but not everyone does.

This ranking only states the obvious. For the football authority that oversees the sport in North America, Inter Miami is the best MLS team, and just behind Club America and Cruz Azul.
The Herons are tied with Club America, with 1,238 points. Cruz Azul, the first one in the ranking, has 1,265 points. From last time, Las Garzas climbed one position.
Last year, they were in fourth place; Toluca was in third place.
The other Top 10 MLS teams are behind Inter Miami and in the following order:
- 5 - Columbus Crew
- 7 - Vancouver Whitecaps
- 9 - Seattle Sounders FC
- 10 - Los Angeles FC
Do you think Inter Miami’s position is correct?
