Inter Miami find out opponents for Club World Cup
AL AHLY – Egypt
A club that a lot of people who don’t pay much attention to African football will not be familiar with, and you would think they would be the outsiders in this group, but don’t count out Al Ahly FC. This is the club with the most trophies in the history of football, with a staggering 118. That includes 44 Egyptian top flight titles, 39 Egyptian cups and an incredible 12 CAF Champions League’s.
Of course people can sit there and say that the quality of football in Africa isn’t as good as it is in a Europe, or South America for example, but this club have created a winning culture over so many years and have the players that know exactly what it takes to win. They play at the Cairo International Stadium, which holds a huge capacity of 75,700, a ground that is bigger than the vast majority in Europe, and even slightly bigger than Old Trafford, showing how big the club is. They play in red shirts with white shorts and red socks.
