Just days after being crowned the 2025 MLS Cup Champions, Inter Miami wasted no time gearing up for next season.
After announcing their end-of-season roster decisions, in which the club opted out of signing Marcelo "Chelo' Weigandt to a permanent deal, the Herons have their sights set on another Argentine defender.
According to Tom Bogert of The Athletic, Inter Miami is finalizing a deal to sign right-back Facundo Mura from Racing Club.

The 26-year-old would join Miami as a free agent, making the transfer a cap-friendly deal. Looking at his playing style, Mura is your typical modern full-back who will bring energy and verticality to Miami's right side.
Though he only stands at 5'7 (1.7 m), Mura excels in aerial duels, winning 1.16 per 90, which puts him in the 60th percentile of all full-backs in the Argentine Primeria Divison according to fbref.
Mura has been with Racing since 2022, where he's been a consistent starter for El Primer Grande. With Weigandt leaving the club, and Academy product Ian Fray signing a new contract, Miami will be down another right-sided defender.
The right-back spot will be bolstered by Mura's signing, offering necessary depth for the team's busy 2026 calendar.
