After their MLS Cup win on December 6th, Inter Miami wasted no time in preparing its roster for a busy 2026 season.
Not only did they re-sign key players who were a part of their MLS Cup Final run, but they're also on the verge of signing the reigning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.
Now, as part of the club's retooling, they could add yet another player from the Argentina national team to the squad.
According to reports from Gaston Edul and Alex Merida of el Correo Andalucia, the Herons are eyeing a potential winter transfer move for current Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
Though there is initial interest, per Edul, no official proposal has been submitted to Real Betis at this time.

Regardless of how the bid stands, Miami's interest in the Copa América winner displays the continued ambition from the club as they look to reinforce their midfield with another player with international experience.
Tactically, Lo Celso is known for his technical ability and versatility, where he's comfortable playing in multiple positions across the front line or in central midfield.
The 29-year-old would offer Miami another creative outlet between the lines, a player who is also capable of linking midfield to attack, and can provide goal contributions from deeper areas of the pitch.
Ultimately, it's too early to say that a move for Lo Celso to Miami is in the cards. Until there's further movement, discussions about the Argentine's future in pink are just speculation rather than something that could happen soon.
