Review panel overturns Fray red card, right back available for Charlotte
Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano was furious when referee Joe Dickerson showed Ian Fray a red card Sunday after the Herons’ 4-1 win at Houston.
“I saw the video. Ian did nothing,” Mascherano told reporters after the match. “He did absolutely nothing.”
He was vindicated Thursday when the Independent Review Panel unanimously approved Inter Miami’s appeal, overturning the card and wiping out Fray’s one-match suspension and fine. Fray will be eligible to play in a key MLS regular-season match Saturday against Charlotte FC.

Alba fined for touching Dynamo player’s face. Meanwhile, the MLS Disciplinary Committee issued a fine against Jordi Alba for violating the league’s hands-to-the-face rule, in the same match. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were fined for the same violation after the New York City FC match in February.
Allende wins Goal of the Matchday. Fans selected Inter Miami newcomer Tadeo Allende’s screamer from distance as the Major League Soccer Goal of the Matchday. Allende, Mascherano’s first choice winger since arriving on loan from Real Betis, scored this screamer, his first MLS goal, in the Herons’ 4-1 win at Houston.
