On June 29, Inter Miami signed a key addition in forward Corentin Jean. The club signed the Frenchman to a two-year deal with options for the club in 2025 and 2026. Jean comes to Inter Miami from France's top flight, playing for RC Lens in 2021/22.

The French attacker brings versatility and experience to an Inter Miami front line that was desperate for reinforcements. How will he fit in, and what does he bring to Fort Lauderdale?

Jean has scored 28 goals and contributed ten assists throughout his ten-year career in France. While with RC Lens in 2021/22, Jean was primarily used as a substitute, appearing in 17 matches with only one start. He scored a goal despite playing only 255 minutes across those 17 appearances.

In fact, Jean played over 30 minutes just twice, and the other 16 appearances average to about 11.4 minutes per game. That's not a lot of time to make an impression. He will have the chance to make a name for himself in south Florida.

Inter Miami have signed Corentin Jean from RC Lens

The French winger gives Inter Miami another player that can create and put the ball in the net. In his limited time, Jean completed 75.2% of his passes, and had two passes lead directly to shots. He also had seven shot-creating actions. The 27-year-old isn't afraid to let the ball fly, either. For his career, Jean averages about one shot on target per 90 minutes. Interestingly, Jean is one for long shots, as the average distance per shot in his career is 19 yards.

With more play-time, and an upbeat offensive attack, Jean could play a huge part in helping Inter Miami boost its offense.

The 27-year-old brings versatility to Inter Miami, as he has the ability to play on the wing or up top. This works perfectly for the Herons, as there isn't really a formidable backup for star striker Leo Campana. With Higuain's new super-sub role, Jean can slide in to the starting striker role if Campana is out.

As far as the wing, its a position Inter Miami could use some help with. Injuries to both Robbie Robinson and Ariel Lassiter have seen the position lose a bit of its depth. Indiana Vassilev has shown potential and had great moments in his limited time. Emerson Rodríguez is clearly one of the most dynamic talents that Inter Miami has, but he isn't currently ready for a full-time starting role. Jean brings a bit of consistency to the wing and could contribute instantly.

With Inter Miami's solid attackers like Campana and Robert Taylor, new signings Pozuelo and Jean, Inter Miami's attack is beginning to look more and more like a strength. The group has the talent to take over matches and put the ball in the back of the net. It's been nearly a month since Jean's signing and he still hasn't appeared for the Herons, but when he does, playoff-hopeful Inter Miami and its attack will surely benefit.
