Many teams in the MLS are starting to make moves on players to upgrade their squad, something that Inter Miami is not doing as they should. According to El Observador, a former player of the Herons is close to joining the LA Galaxy. The player that could return to the MLS but with a different team is Nicolas Figal.

Figal signed with Inter Miami back in January 2020. Coming from Independiente, the Herons pay 2.2 million for the 30-year-old defender. During his two years at the club, Nico Figal played 47 games with one goal and two assists. The rareness was in his position; he plays at Boca Juniors as a center back, but when he played in the MLS for the Herons, he was the starting right back.

Since joining Boca Juniors, Nicolas Figal has played 94 games, scoring five goals and giving one assist. But, at the moment, his story with the Argentinian club is not the same as how it started. Little by little, the different coaches moved him from the starting lineup to the bench. With the addition of new players, his role is no longer essential. Therefore, Figal is most games on the bench or not even on the list for the game.

Should Inter Miami enter the bid for Nicolas Figal?

First of all, it will not happen. Inter Miami is not looking for Nicolas Figal. However, this would be an impressive signing from Miami. Due to his familiarity with the team, he will adapt twice as fast as other players. Not to forget, but Figal is right-footed. It means he could be the center-back alongside Martinez, with Aviles as the ideal substitute in case of injuries. This scenario will reinforce and increase the level of the defense.

With Avile's performance against tough teams, Inter Miami could benefit from a player like Figal. His speed, reaction, and awareness make him a threat to the other team striker. And with the tendency of Weigandt to attack, his space coverage is essential. So, the answer to this question is yes, Inter Miami should enter the bid for Figal.
