Help Wanted: Inter Miami In Search Of Class Defender

By all accounts, Inter Miami has shored up its offense with the off-season signings of Luis Suarez and Julian Gressel. Not, it’s time to focus on the defense to make a run at the 2024 MLS Cup playoffs.

It’s Been A Decent Transfer Window For Inter Miami

Yes, the Herons have done a good job since the start of the January transfer window.

Finally closing the deal to bring former Barcelona, Ajax and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez out of his South American doldrums to South Florida.

It’s a nice reuniting of Suarez and fellow former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Lionel Messi.

While he may not be available every match due to nagging knee issues and overall concerns for fitness, Suarez will fit well with the broader Inter Miami system and culture.

It’s a signing that should pay dividends throughout the season.

The signing that has excited me even more is bringing two-time MLS Cup champion Julian Gressel to Inter Miami from Columbus Crew.

In Gressel, Inter Miami gets a quality offensive threat with great MLS and international experience.

All-in-all, it was a quality signing for the Herons that makes their midfield one of the most dangerous in Major League Soccer.

So, all told, Inter Miami has done a good bit of business in the transfer window.

But that shouldn’t mean they are done, let alone satisfied with that business.
