Inter Miami 2024 MLS Schedule Finds New Opponents On the Slate

Major League Soccer unveiled the 2024 composite schedule and Inter Miami’s isn’t really surprising. However, the Herons do have some opponents they’ve never played before.

Inter Miami Continue Western Trek in 2024

Besides Real Salt Lake, Inter Miami will have two other brand-new opponents from the Western Conference.

On April 6, the Herons will host the Colorado Rapids at DRV PNK Stadium.

The Rapids have been around for a long time (and I do mean a LONG time). They started in 1995.

Colorado won the 2010 MLS Cup, but more notably, they were the runners-up of the 1999 U.S. Open Cup where they lost to the Rochester Raging Rhinos — the last time a non-MLS side won the Cup.

Last season, the Rapids finished last in the Western Conference — performing worse than Inter Miami.

The last new opponent for the Herons will be the Vancouver Whitecaps who take on Inter Miami on May 25 at BC Place in Vancouver.

The Whitecaps have been playing since 2009 and was the first Canadian-based MLS side to qualify for the MLS Cup playoffs in 2012.

Vancouver has won three Canadian Championships, including the last two in a row.

The Whitecaps made the MLS Cup playoffs in 2023 by finishing sixth in the Western Conference. They were knocked out in the first round by eventual runners-up Los Angeles FC — losing both games of the best-of-three series.

The MLS regular season kicks off on February 21 when Inter Miami will host Real Salt Late followed by a trip to Los Angeles to take on the LA Galaxy on February 25.

The regular season concludes on October 19 when the Herons host New England Revolution at DRV PNK Stadium.
