Inter Miami Extend Leonardo Campana’s Contract
Inter Miami Extends Leonardo Campana
While he was bounced around in the first three years of his career, Inter Miami forward Leonardo Campana has found a landing spot.
The club has elected to extend the Ecuadorian’s contract through 2027, according to the team.
His new contract keeps the 23-year-old in South Florida through the 2027 Major League Soccer season with an option to extend to 2028.
It comes on the heels of Inter Miami exercising its option to make his transfer from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers permanent as he was on loan to the Herons in the 2022 season.
In that season, Campana was the second-leading scorer for Inter Miami, notching 12 goals in 28 games across all competitions.
He’s credited with Inter Miami’s first hat trick after finding the back of the net three times against New England Revolution in Week 6 last season.
Campana’s first professional season was with Ecuadorian side Barcelona SC followed by a move to Wolves in 2019. However, Wolverhampton loaned out Campana to Portuguese side Famalicao and Grasshopper in the Swiss Super League before he finally landed at Inter Miami last season.
"I’m really happy to renew my contract for four more years with the team that has made me feel at home since my first day. I’m happy, motivated and excited for everything to come at this club, and for a great city like Miami."

So far this season, Campana has tallied seven goals and two assists in MLS play to go along with a pair of goals in the U.S. Open Cup.
Of those nine goals, three of them have come since Inter Miami signed Lionel Messi to the squad in July.
