Where Inter Miami Players Rate
I can’t say I’m terribly surprised, but Messi is not only the highest-rated player for Inter Miami, but he’s also the highest-rated player in MLS.
On the men’s side, Messi’s 90 overall rating is the fourth best and he’s tied with Karim Benzema, Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski.
Interestingly enough, Messi does rate higher than both Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah and Manchester City defender Ruben Dias.
One thing players of the video game might find interesting is that Inter Miami defender Jordi Alba is the second-highest rated player in MLS at 83 and he’s tied with Herons’ midfielder Sergio Busquets.
All told, Inter Miami have the three highest-rated MLS players in the game.
I’ll take that.
Rounding out the top five in MLS are Toronto FC forward Lorenzo Insigne (81) and Los Angeles FC defender Giorgio Chiellini (80). Nashville SC midfielder Hany Mukhtar and Los Angeles FC forward Carlos Vela are also rated at 80.
As a team, Inter Miami’s rating isn’t nearly as high. The team overall scores a 69 — good enough for 317th on the list of all teams rated — not bad, but not great.
That’s lower than New England Revolution, Portland Timbers, FC Cincinnati, Seattle Sounders FC, D.C. United, Philadelphia Union and Los Angeles FC.
Heck, it’s even lower than the fictional AFC Richmond from Ted Lasso fame.
But, it is higher than Florida Derby rival Orlando City SC (66)… so, I’ll take that.
Plus, it isn’t like I’ll start off with the entire roster from Inter Miami.
Now, after Messi, Alba and Busquets, the overall ratings kind of drop off a bit. Facundo Farias comes in at 75 along with Josef Martinez.
Overall, I’m not too terribly surprised with the overall player and team ratings. Inter Miami, as a squad may be a little high considering they are near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, but having players like Messi, Alba and Busquets seems to have changed their fortunes both on the actual pitch and in video game land.
