Seven games. Those are the number of games left in the MLS regular season. Five wins. The amount of victories Inter Miami needs to achieve the record for most points made by a team in the MLS.

The Herons are in excellent form in the Major League Soccer, being first in the East Conference and the biggest contender for the Supporters Shield. And also the only team with a secure spot in the playoffs with eight or seven games to spare.

Beating Chicago Fire 4-1 placed Inter Miami with 59 units out of 81 possible. With 15 points in the next seven games, the Herons will reach the 74-point mark. One unit more than the current holder of the record, the New England Revolution.

What are the differences between Inter Miami and the 2021 New England Revolution?

  • Wins/Draw/Lost games

In the 2021/22 season, the New England Revolution team ended the season with 22 victories, seven draws, and five losses. On the other hand, Inter Miami currently has 18 games won, five tied games, and four losses. Be aware that the season isn't over yet. The MLS still has seven games left to finish the regular season.

To surpass the England Revolution, Inter Miami needs to end the season with a minimum of 23 victories. ¿Why 23? That's because, with that number of wins, the Herons will reach the 74-point mark and break the record.

  • Goals in favour

Inter Miami currently has 62 goals in favor of the team. With this stat, they have solidified their position at the top of the Eastern Conference. Not only that, but the Herons are also the highest-scoring team in the MLS, with a difference of almost ten goals from the other teams.

The record holders ended the season with 65 goals in favor, three more than Inter Miami but with more games played. Like the Herons, the New England Revolution was the highest-scoring team in the 2021/22 season.

  • Goals Conceded

In this area, the Revs are a step ahead of the Herons. ¿Why is that? With seven games left, Inter Miami has 40 conceded goals, while New England conceded 41 goals in all 34 matches. Unless Miami figures out a way to prevent teams from scoring in those seven games, this acknowledges that the Revs would take the lead in this statistic.
