What Gressel Brings to Inter Miami

First and foremost, Gressel brings MLS experience to a midfield mixed with international talent and youth.

Inter Miami’s midfield is anchored by former Barcelona standout Sergio Busquets, but also includes Diego Gomez, newcomer Facundo Farias, oft-injured Gregore and Nicolas Stefanelli.

There’s a lot of experience there but, outside Busquets, not a lot of postseason experience.

Gressel brings just that to the table with his two titles — one with Atlanta and one this past season with Columbus Crew.

He’s also played for D.C. United and the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Over the course of his MLS career, Gressel has notched 27 goals and 68 assists across 228 regular-season and playoff appearances.

He’s also been a regular call-up for the U.S. Men’s National Team since he became a naturalized citizen — making six appearances since January 2023.

According to Inter Miami, Gressel’s deal runs though the 2026 season, giving strong stability to the midfield along with additional attacking pressure to couple with Lionel Messi, new signing Luis Suarez and Robert Taylor.
