Inter Miami wasn’t even in the MLS Cup conversation in June. Now, Vegas oddsmakers suggest the chance of the Herons winning the cup are pretty good.

What a difference a month makes for Inter Miami.

We’ve talked endlessly about how much Inter Miami has improved since signing Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

And if their run in the Leagues Cup, U.S. Open Cup and start to the last half of the Major League Soccer campaign wasn’t enough, Vegas is weighing in.

Inter Miami’s Odds Of Winning MLS Cup Title Down In Preseason

Now, let me preface by saying that although I talk about the stock market for my full-time job, I’m not much of a gambler.

I understand the premise, but I could just as easily light $100 on fire as lose it betting on sports.

All of that said, Vegas oddsmakers are giving Inter Miami’s chances of winning the MLS Cup this season a big boost.

And let’s not lose sight of the fact that before the Leagues Cup, the Herons were dead last in the Eastern Conference.

In fact, after their 2-0 win at New York Red Bulls over the weekend, Inter Miami , but only by one place.

Now, before the season started, Inter Miami was given a minuscule chance of winning the title.

Their odds of winning the league were about +1,400.

For those of you who don’t get sports betting, that essentially means that for every $100 you bet on those odds, you stand to make $1,400 on the bet.

It basically means Vegas gave little hope to Inter Miami winning the cup.

Well, how times of changed.

Inter Miami Cup Odds Get Big Boost

The Toronto Star did a piece on the updated odds of MLS teams and their chances of winning the cup now that we are on the final leg of the season.

Now, rightfully so, FC Cincinnati has the best odds at +450 (as of today). That, however, is actually down from +400 a week ago.

Keep in mind, the lower the number the better the odds.

In the preseason, FC Cincinnati’s odds were +2,500 — which were even worse than Inter Miami’s preseason odds.

But, surprisingly enough, the second-best odds to lift the trophy belong to the Herons at +600.

Their odds were +1,400 in the preseason and +600 a week ago to +600 today.

Los Angeles FC had the best odds coming into the season at +450, but that went down to +650 this week.

Philadelphia Union was right behind LAFC in the preseason at +600, but those numbers have gotten worse to +1,000 today.

I want to mention again that Inter Miami is second-to-last in the Eastern Conference and has a ton to make up in order to just make the playoffs… let alone actually win the cup.

The biggest odds drop belongs to Houston Dynamo who came into the season at +800 and have dropped to +3,300.

It all means that Inter Miami have the second-best odds (betting wise) of winning the MLS Cup. A $100 bet would win you about $600 if it actually happened.

I might actually find a legal sports book here in Florida and take that action.
