Inter Miami Postseason Plans Become Clear

A canceled tour, a friendly match and no postseason. It's already been an interesting postseason for Inter Miami, but it just became clearer what the plans are.

Inter Miami Plan a Friendly and Some Time Off

All things being equal, it would be good to give Inter Miami players and coaching staff some well-deserved time off.

After all, it’s been pretty hectic for the club since Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets joined the side in July of this year.

But then, Messi had to go and win his eighth Ballon d’Or, and the team just couldn’t let that go by the wayside.

So, instead of a little family get-together at DRV PNK Stadium to celebrate, Inter Miami management decided to put on a full-fledged friendly match against New York City FC (another team that didn’t make the MLS Cup playoffs), set for Friday, November 10.

Ok, I can get behind that.

Following that match, Martino confirmed that the team will likely be off until preseason training starts on January 10.

But there is the outside possibility that Inter Miami does take part in some preseason friendlies somewhere outside of South Florida before the MLS season kicks back off.

Not sure where or when, but it is possible.

In short, the team gets two months off after Friday’s game with New York and there is the possibility of some friendly matches sprinkled in there somewhere.

Let’s not forget that Messi and other international players for Inter Miami will also help their respective national teams in World Cup qualifying matches.

For example, Argentina will take on Uruguay on November 16 and Brazil on November 21.

Diego Gomez will play for Paraguay when they travel to Chile on November 16 and host Columbia on November 21.

It all means that there should be plenty of opportunities to watch Inter Miami players in the off-season.

Roll on, la familia, roll on.
