Inter Miami's preseason friendly in Hong Kong draws sky-high ticket prices, reaching up to $1,500 per ticket.

It didn’t take long for tickets to Inter Miami’s preseason friendly against the Hong Kong All Stars to sell out, according to media reports.

Inter Miami Draws Sky-High Ticket Prices

According to the South China Morning Post, tickets for Inter Miami’s preseason friendly in Hong Kong were selling for as high as $1,500 after the game was announced two weeks ago.

Initially, prices for the match were about a quarter of that amount when they went on sale exclusively on the Klook app — the ticket sales app in Hong Kong.

Back in July when Messi made his official Inter Miami debut, the average price of a ticket to the match was around $780 with some as high as $6,800.

And, believe me, those fans in Hong Kong weren’t paying for the competition… they were paying for the opportunity to see one of the greatest players in the world take the pitch.

Not too dissimilar to fans in South Florida in July.

I didn’t pay to see how well Cruz Azul would fare against Inter Miami in the 2023 Leagues Cup, but rather to get a rare opportunity to see Messi in black and pink for the first time.

It didn’t disappoint.

But, I digress.

To put the ticket prices to see Messi in perspective, there is the Lunar New Year Cup match featuring players like Francesco Totti, Carlos Puyol and Wesley Sneijder that were selling for even less than the initial prices of Inter Miami’s friendly.
