Inter Miami To Face the Best of Rosario (not Dawson)

Usually, preseason-friendly fixtures have one team on the road.

For Inter Miami, that preseason schedule has the Herons on the road… a lot.

From El Salvador to Saudi Arabia to Asia, the team will be racking up its frequent flyer miles from the end of January to the beginning of February.

Well, not to leave the South Florida fans behind — like many of us were going to trek to Japan anyway — the club picked up one more friendly to add to the mix.

Inter Miami will host Newell’s Old Boys at DRV PNK Stadium on February 15.

That team might have a familiar ring to all the die-hard Messi fans out there as it is his hometown club — from Rosario (not Dawson), Argentina.

It’s also the hometown club of Inter Miami manager Tata Martino who played almost 500 matches for Old Boys and managed the side during the 2012-2013 season.

Messi started his professional career with the six-time Argentine champions before leaving for Barcelona in 2000.
