It was speculated that Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi would be called up for upcoming World Cup qualifiers. That speculation is over.

Inter Miami’s Roster Will Be A Wreck

The international break begins in the first week of September with CONMEBOL qualifying getting started on September 7 (when Messi and Argentina take on Ecuador in Buenos Aires).

That means Messi and Martinez (whose Venezuela side takes on Columbia on the same date) will leave Inter Miami following the Herons’ road match at Los Angeles Football Club on September 3.

It’s also likely that Azcona and Ruiz will also depart at the same time as Dominican Republic takes on Nicaragua and Honduras travels to Jamaica for the Concacaf Nations League on September 8.

The United States hosts Uzbekistan on September 9 — taking Callender and Cremaschi out. That is the same time Inter Miami hosts Sporting Kansas City.

International players will also likely be out for Inter Miami’s September 16 away match at Atlanta United.

The most likely return for those called to international duty will be September 20 when Inter Miami hosts Toronto FC at DRV PNK Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale.

The club should be back to full strength for the Florida Derby against Orlando City on September 24.
