Reports are running wild that Inter Miami is looking for defensive help in the way of a Manchester United cast-off with ties to Lionel Messi and Tata Martino.

A Little Too Much Passion for Inter Miami

As a defender, age isn’t that big of an issue because defenders typically expend less physically on the pitch.

But, the problem with Rojo is that he might play with a little too much passion.

According to The Mirror, last season, Rojo kicked a player in the head during a match and allegedly threw a fire extinguisher during a dust-up in the player’s tunnel.

The report went on to suggest that Rojo has been working on his temper through a sports psychologist.

"“[It] helps me a lot. I am always in contact. I started because of the injuries. I felt I was doing all I could with the doctors. I followed the recovery stages and when I got back on the field I got injured again. I couldn’t figure it out.”"

So, not only does Rojo have anger issues, he is also injury-prone.

Didn’t we just sign a player that had that kind of an issue? Do we really need another one?

Plus, independent reports suggest that neither Messi nor Martino have actually made any contact with Rojo… as was the spark of this rumor.

Now, I fully believe that Inter Miami need help with the back line.

After all, this is a team that gave up 54 goals in 34 MLS regular-season matches last season, so help is definitely needed.

But, I’m not sure that an injury-prone defender with a history of anger issues is the right move for Inter Miami.

I could be wrong.
