Why Luka Modric Is Linked To Inter Miami

I guess the answer to that question is: Why not?

While he never played for Barcelona, he has played against Barcelona since 2008 — after joining Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur.

He’s excelled as a central attacking midfielder, but, at 38 years old, his playing time for Carlo Ancelotti has been diminished this season.

The reason for that is pretty simple — Real Madrid backed up a Brink’s truck to sign central midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.

Plus, they added Brahim Diaz from AC Milan and Arda Guler from Fenerbahce to go along with Aurelien Tchoumeni, Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos… meaning they have a lot of players who can play in the midfield.

It’s gotten so rough for the Croatia international that after he was subbed off in a loss to Atletico Madrid, Modric hasn’t seen the pitch in Real Madrid’s last two matches.

That’s unfamiliar territory for a player the caliber of Modric.

Especially considering he was the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner to go along with five Champions League titles, five FIFA Club World Cup titles, four Spanish Super Cups, three La Liga titles and a host of other trophies from his time playing for Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia.

So, it comes as little surprise that Inter Miami president David Beckham has reportedly spoken to Modric about the possibility of joining Inter Miami perhaps as soon as the winter transfer window.
