Three Up, Three Down: Inter Miami flops without Messi, loses Open Cup final 2-1 against the Houston Dynamo.

Playing in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championship without Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba, the Herons turned in a lackluster first half, playing as poorly as we’ve seen. Still, we’re committed to choose three Inter Miami players who most impacted the match, and three who didn’t. Here we go!

Dixon Arroyo, C+

[KEN] The Ecuadorian did what he’s done since the Herons brought him to MLS after early season injuries to Gregore and Juan Mota (remember those guys?): Stabilize the midfield defensively and link the midfield and attack when building from the back. Arroyo wasn’t spectacular, but he was what we’ve come to expect — solid.

[MATT] Yeah, Arroyo was fine. Not great, but not bad. More the Goldilocks of the game for Inter Miami. With the overall performance of the team against Houston, I guess that's enough to earn some style points from us.
