Three Up, Three Down: Kamal Miller shines in otherwise lackluster Inter Miami team effort against Nashville

The budding Inter Miami-Nashville rivalry is becoming must-watch TV with coaches Tata Martino and Gary Smith the stars. Smith “won” Wednesday, holding La Rosanegra scoreless at DRV PNK Stadium.

Tomas Aviles B

[KEN] I’m starting to like the 19-year-old Argentine. He isn’t flashy, and I think that’s part of his appeal. Aviles has started three matches beside Miller and we hardly hear his name. He plays within himself, makes the plays he should and doesn’t make reckless decisions. I think Kryvtsov keeps his starting job, but the kid can be an important part of our future.

[MATT] This is exactly why Inter Miami brought in Aviles. Ken mentioned it beautifully... he isn't flashy, but he certainly gets the job done.

And, yes, Kryvtsov should be looking over his shoulder, especially the more Aviles impresses on and off the pitch.

[KEN] Honorable mention: Benjamin Cremaschi, who made an immediate impact with his energy and confident passing and dribbling upon entering in the second half. He has earned his first USMNT senior callup with his play over the past month.

[MATT] It was good that Berhalter is trying to convince Cremaschi to play for the USMNT -- considering he has dual citizenship -- but I think he has a long way to go to convince me that he is a starter for this club. Perhaps working alongside Messi will bring out more on-field maturity and consistency.
