Three Up, Three Down: Kamal Miller shines in otherwise lackluster Inter Miami team effort against Nashville

The budding Inter Miami-Nashville rivalry is becoming must-watch TV with coaches Tata Martino and Gary Smith the stars. Smith “won” Wednesday, holding La Rosanegra scoreless at DRV PNK Stadium.

Three Down

[KEN] Again, the King gave us virtually nothing. He had no ideas once it became clear Nashville was policing the little give-and-goes he and Messi have shown to such advantage in previous matches. He didn’t quit, but I think he was frustrated and a little stunned that he could so easily be neutralized.

I know Josef isn’t as quick as he was once, but he can replace speed for craftiness. Find spaces and make unexpected runs; instead of cute interior passes, look for the wings more. Every puzzle has a solution, but you must be smart and patient to find it.

[MATT] I really think a hidden reason for bringing in Messi, Busquets and Alba is because Martinez isn't living up to his expectations... albeit that expectation is much lower than his time with Atlanta United.

I thought immediately being paired with Messi would create a dynamic offensive pair for Inter Miami, but that hasn't been the case. Martinez is missing more than he's delivering and against Nashville was no exception.
