FIVE -- MLS regular season -- the first win

8/22/20 -- Inter Miami 3, Orlando City -- Julián Carranza scored twice, and Rodolfo Pizarro added a goal and an assist as the Herons won their first competitive match, first Major League soccer match and first home match at near-empty Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
Los Garzas played their first matches during the COVID-19 pandemic, which interrupted sports across the planet. MLS started, then stopped, then restarted with the MLS is Back tournament in Orlando sans fans. The Herons suffered five one-goal losses before finally getting their first victory.
“The guys deserved it; the staff, owners, and above all the fans deserved it," Inter Miami coach Diego Alonso told reporters after the match. "We had to wait for this victory for a long time, but we got it in the best way: playing at home and winning strongly.”
FOUR -- 2023 U.S. Open Cup semifinals -- PK thriller

8/23/23 -- FC Cincinnati 3 (4), IMCF 3 (5) -- Lionel Messi didn't score, but his two assists, penalty kick and leadership helped the Herons rally from a two-goal deficit and eke out a dramatic road win against FC Cincinnati in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinal at TQL Stadium.
Luciano Acosta and Brandon Vázquez scored in the 18th and 53rd minutes, respectively, to give Cincinnati what appeared to be a commanding lead, but Messi's precise passes into the penalty area -- resulted in Leonardo Campana scores in the 68th minute and the seventh minute of stoppage time.
Josef Martínez (IMCF) and Yūya Kubo (Cincinnati) scored in extra time, setting up the penalty shootout.
Messi calmly slotted home the Herons' first shot from the penalty spot; Cincinnati center back Nick Hagglund missed the hosts' fifth try and Inter Miami homegrown midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi -- 18 at the time -- made his shot to eliminate MLS-leading Cincinnati from the Open Cup.
Los Garzas lost the Cup final 2-1 to the Houston Dynamo on Sept. 27, 2023.
